In order to achieve AMBASSADOR targets, the project is divided into nine Work Packages (WPs), each targeting different objectives, tasks and expected results.

WP1Leader: Jean-Louis Bergerand (Schneider Electric)

WORK PACKAGE 1: SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

DEMIS overall requirement, test scenarios played on the pilot sites, global high levelarchitecture, object model and data model will be described in this work package, the main exchange flow will be described at high level. The aim of this WP is to give the perimeter and the common framework of the project. The detailed specification will be produced in the corresponding technical WP.

Public deliverables:

WP2

Leader: Pierre Bernaud (CEA-INES)

WORK PACKAGE 2: DISTRICT / BUILDING SIMULATION ENVIRONMENT

The objective of the Work Package 2 is to develop a full simulation environment including building (envelop, electricity and energy usage) and district simulation model.

WP3Leader: Martin Sénéclauze (CSEM)

WORK PACKAGE 3: SYSTEM INTEROPERABILITY & COMMUNICATION

Work Package 3 concerns the design, architecture, and realization of the network that will interconnect the DEMIS to:

  • Demonstrate interoperability of building IT and Facility (Smart Loads)
  • Coordinate Building Energy policies (Voice, wireless, desktop PC’s and facility loads)
  • Demonstrate Smart-Grid to Smart-Load interaction

Public deliverables:
D3.3 Final AMBASSADOR Communication infrastructure

WP4Leader: Susana Lopez (Tekniker)

WORK PACKAGE 4: ENERGY PRODUCTION, STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION

Within  WP4, the following items will be developed:

  • Behavioural models of energy generation sub-systems
  • Behavioural models of storage sub-systems
  • Reduced model of thermal energy transport network at district level for its implementation in a real time control system
  • Guidelines for the control to better coordinate production, storage and consumption of energy
  • Communication protocol within the model systems

WP5Leader: Yves Stauffer (CSEM)

WORK PACKAGE 5: BUILDING ENERGY MANAGEMENT AND INFORMATION SYSTEM

Novel concept for building energy management will be developed in WP5, involving:

  • novel HVAC-L algorithms relying on adaptive and predictive techniques
  • energy flow management at domestic level, relying on energy consumption, renewable energy production predictions and using storage as a leverage
  • health monitoring

WP6Leader: Laurent Battini (Schneider Electric)

WORK PACKAGE 6: DISTRICT ENERGY MANAGEMENT AND INFORMATION SYSTEM

DEMIS architecture will be defined and implemented in WP6. Optimization algorithms will be developed in order to propose energy strategies at district level. These algorithms will be implemented into an platform and connected to district actors. Tests will be carried out using a test platform of WP5.

WP7Leader: Antonis Peppas (NTUA)

WORK PACKAGE 7: VALIDATION TESTS

The aim of the WP7 is to equip the identified validation sites to receive the AMBASSADOR system according to the defined scenarios; to run the test scenarios; to collect test data; to analyse test data so as to assess the AMBASSADOR system.
Public deliverables:
D7.1 AMBASSADOR deployment on test sites description
D7.2 Test evolution logbook
D7.4 AMBASSADOR validation report

WP8Leader: Lenka Bajarova (AMIRES)

WORK PACKAGE 8: PUBLIC AWARENESS AND RESULTS EXPLOITATION

WP8 is dedicated to the exploitation of AMBASSADOR results and their dissemination through the project website, publication in journals, presentation at conferences etc. and through organisation of AMBASSADOR final conference. Tutorials and summer school will be established during the course of the project.  New business model will be developed and contribution of AMBASSADOR to standards will be considered. Existing state of energy management at building and district level will be also assessed.
Public deliverables:
D8.1 Description of the assessment method and assessment result of existing state
D8.2 Assessment result of modified state
D8.3 Tutorials and summer school for energy managers
D8.4 Public and internal webpage
D8.5 Development of a dissemination strategy document
D8.6 Final AMBASSADOR conference
D8.9 Evaluation of AMBASSADOR results as contributions to standards
D8.10 Study on the European legal framework including recommendations for policy makers

WP9Leader: Alfredo Samperio (Schneider Electric)

WORK PACKAGE 9: FINANCIAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENT

The aim of the WP9 is to coordinate the actions of participants and progress monitoring for achievements of AMBASSADOR goals including financial and administrative management and reliable interface to the EC services and external actors (EAB).
